Memorial Day

Today, the Americans are remembering the Memorial Day. To honour the soldiers both dead and alive. My nation had a quite similar, we called it Remembrance Day (11th November) and Remembrance Sunday. The link is below so you can read it.

Numerous texts in the Bible stress the importance of recognising and respecting other countries. Let us examine many of them:

Isaiah 49:6 says, “He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth.’” This verse highlights God’s plan to restore and illuminate not only Israel but also all nations through salvation.

"I will make your name to be remembered in all generations," proclaims Psalm 45:17. The psalmist declares that he plans to sing hymns of praise that will guarantee that God's name is never forgotten and that all peoples will forever praise him.

"All nations whom you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord; and shall glorify your name," according to Psalm 86:9. This verse highlights how all peoples worship God equally, acknowledging His majesty and dignity.

We are urged to "honour all people" and "fear God" in 1 Peter 2:17. Living a virtuous life requires us to honour others, particularly our country.

In summary, these verses highlight the significance of remembering and honoring God and our nations. They emphasize God’s desire for salvation to extend to all people and the importance of recognizing His name and glory across generations.
