World Art Day

Today it is World Art Day, let's read what God says about art.

Art as a Divine Gift: People view art as a means of worship and as a gift from God. God bestowed the Spirit of God upon Bezalel in Exodus 31, endowing him with the skill, knowledge, insight, and craftsmanship necessary to create beautiful patterns.

Art for Beauty and Glorification: God is exalted and locations devoted to Him are made beautiful through the use of art. For example, Solomon made "artistic frames" for the temple in 1 Kings 6.

Art and Skill: God has endowed everyone with skill with skill in their hearts. This is clear from Exodus 35, when people with skill who are capable of many artistic endeavours are described.

Art and Morality: The Bible forbids the use of art as a means of idolatry, in keeping with God's teachings on how to live a moral life.

Art and Beauty: God created everything beautifully in its own time and because He cherishes beauty. Art that is a reflection of God's handiwork will be valued, clever, inventive, and well-made.

In conclusion, the Bible emphasises the significance of using this gift properly and in accordance with God's teachings, portraying art as a divine gift and a way to praise God. It promotes the making of lovely things, acknowledging that the ability to do so is a gift from God.
