Today adults whether they are 18 or above are going to vote, who shall be in charge of the parliament in UK.
What does the bible say about voting?
Deuteronomy 1:13: “Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.” This verse emphasizes the importance of selecting wise leaders.
Romans 13:1-14: “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” In this passage, Paul encourages submission to governing authorities, recognizing their divine appointment. Paul stresses deference to the rule of law. Understand that individuals in positions of authority are appointed by God, and that we obey them in order to obey God. But this is about upholding power and preserving order, not about mindless obedience.
Ecclesiastes 10:2: “A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left.” This verse underscores the value of wisdom in leadership. It is implied that wisdom results in wiser decisions by the idea of a wise man's heart being at his right hand and a fool's heart being at his left. Society benefits from wise leaders.
Daniel 2:21: “And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.” God controls leadership transitions and grants wisdom. God controls leadership transitions. He grants wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those with understanding. Trust His sovereignty.
Recall that these passages offer guidelines for interacting with authorities and the government. Their focus is on prayer, knowledge, and surrender.
