Victory (VE Day Special)

1 Corinthians 15:57

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This verse emphasises the Christian doctrine that trust in Jesus Christ is the means by which one achieves ultimate triumph. Believers gained victory over sin and death through His death and resurrection. It serves as a reminder that only God and our relationship with Jesus Christ can bring about real and enduring victory.

Deuteronomy 20:4

“For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.”

Tales of conquest and deliverance from the Old Testament emphasise God's function as the source of His people's success. This verse highlights the need to rely on God's intervention rather than just human strength in order to succeed.

Romans 8:37

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Not only are believers triumphant, but they are "more than conquerors" due of their relationship with Christ. This verse discusses both the certainty of victory in Christ and the continuous spiritual battle.

Psalm 20:7

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”

True triumph is derived from reliance on God rather than just human might. This verse exhorts us to have faith in God's ability.

The Bible says that trust in Jesus Christ and God are the ultimate sources of triumph. It inspires believers to accept that supernatural intervention is necessary for triumph and to rely on the Lord's love and strength.
