Jesus had just concluded his discourse. Everybody was starving. "Send them away to buy food." His followers stated. However, Jesus wished to demonstrate to humanity that they could rely on God.
"Why don't you feed them?" Jesus asked
"It would take wages to buy bread for them all." his disciples cried
"How much food do you have?" asked Jesus
"There is a boy here." replied Andrew, "who has loaves of bread and two little fish."
"Excellent," grinned Jesus. Instruct everyone to take a seat on the grass.
People were seated all over the mountainside as a result.
Jesus gave thanks to God for fish and bread. He then divided them into small pieces to distribute to his followers.
The entire multitude was given bread and fish by Jesus' followers. Thousands of men, women, and kids were present. Everyone consumed all they desired to eat.
The disciples then picked up what was left over. Just five loaves of bread and two fish made twelve baskets full! The populace understood that they could rely on God to provide for them.
