For 40 days and 40 nights, Jesus fasted. Though thirsty, he refrained from drinking. He did not eat despite his hunger. Jesus was grumbling in his gut, yet he would not eat.
"If you are the Son of God, turn these rocks into bread," exclaimed the appearance of Satan.
"It is written by a man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God," responded a wise and experienced Jesus.
He made the decision to attempt manipulating Jesus once more. To get a view of the entire city, he led Jesus up to the top of the tallest tower.
"It is written, so if you are the Son of God, humble yourself. He will give His angels orders to keep you safe, and they will carry you up on their hands so you won't run your foot over the stone."
Where Satan pointed, Jesus cast his gaze downward. He was aware that God would always protect him, but this was a bad approach to put God to the test. "It is said do not put the Lord, your God to the test."
Satan made a third attempt because he was even more enraged than before.
Satan led Jesus on a protracted expedition that culminated at the summit of the highest mountain on Earth.
From the summit of the mountain, they had a 360-degree view of the world's gleaming kingdoms, ranging from the tallest, most amazing cities to the deepest, greenest jungles to vast, shimmering oceans.
Satan declared, "All these I shall give you, if you fall down on the ground and worship me."
Satan thought Jesus would defy God and follow him if he promised him all the power and glory of ruling every kingdom on earth, but Jesus retorted, saying, "Getaway, Satan, it is written the Lord your God you shall worship and Him alone shall you serve."
Because God extended love, kindness, and forgiveness to all of His children, Jesus realised that Satan could not do the same for him.
Satan departed.
Jesus was weary and hungry as he walked through the desert, but he had prevailed.
To assist him, angels descended from heaven on wings. They assisted him in getting better by bringing him food and drink.
He was soon prepared to start the task that his father had assigned him.
