Jesus and his followers drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them "Go into the village in front of you and immediately you will find a donkey died and colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say 'The Lord needs them' and he will send them at once." This took place to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet saying.
"Say to the daughter of Zion, 'Behold your king is coming to you, humble and mounted on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.'"
The disciples followed Jesus' instructions and went. He sat atop the colt and the donkey that they had brought and covered with cloaks.
While some people chopped branches off of the tree and scattered them across the road, the majority of the throng spread their cloaks across it.
And the multitudes that trailed and preceded him cried out, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Whoever approaches in the name of the Lord is blessed. The greatest is Hosanna."
And when he arrived in Jerusalem, everyone in the city exclaimed, "Who is this?"
According to the throng, "This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth to Galilee."
