Today it is Earth Day! Earth is God's beloved creation and God's had called on us to look after Earth. But sadly our Earth is dying because we, humans, are careless. We polluted the air by using cars and trucks, polluted the water with so many plastics. We don't have to be like Power Rangers to save the Earth, even small actions can make a big differences.
Recycling: We can recycle some of the trash we produce! You can recycle by using materials you would often throw away to create something new, or you can just recycle by placing your recyclables—paper, plastic, and cardboard—in the recycling bin rather than the trash can.
Not wasting resources: We use resources whenever we switch on the water or any other electrical device in our houses. Do not throw them away!
Avoid littering: Throwing a candy wrapper out the car window might not seem like a huge problem, but it can add up quickly! Empty your rubbish into the trash container rather than the ground.
The following Bible scriptures about protecting the Earth are explained:
"The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it," according to Genesis 2:15.
The obligation placed on humanity to preserve and take care of the Earth is emphasised in this passage. It implies that it is our responsibility as people to save the environment.
Numbers 35:33: “You shall not pollute the land in which you live, for blood pollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, except by the blood of the one who shed it.”
This verse warns against polluting the Earth. It underscores the importance of keeping the Earth clean and unpolluted.
Genesis 1:28: “And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.””
This verse highlights the authority given to humans over the Earth and its creatures. However, this dominion comes with the responsibility to care for and manage the Earth responsibly.
Psalm 24:1: “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.”
This verse reminds us that the Earth and everything in it belongs to God. As such, humans, as God’s creation, should respect and care for the Earth.
Revelation 11:18: "The nations raged, but your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear your name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.”
This verse warns of the consequences of destroying the Earth. It suggests that those who harm the Earth will face judgment.
Earth is our only planet! Let's do our best and played our role to look after our sweet planet.
