I'm pretty sure you have heard someone say 'follow your heart' in books, movies, songs or even real life. The heroes won the battle against the villains because they listened to their hearts. But have every thought of a villains. You know, the mad scientist, the evil king or queen, the terrible wizard or wicked witch or any type of villain, every single one of them were listening to their own heart. It's bad idea to listen to our own heart.
Now here it's bit complicated because when someone finally accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour, the holy spirit came and lived inside it's heart. We listened to the holy spirit. But because it's living in our heart, is it like listening to our heart? No. To find out whether it's coming from your own heart or the holy spirit, listen carefully and then compare using a Bible and you can write it down.
Our heart only care about ourselves and only look up to us. If your heart say something that is good, but you look it up from the Bible, where God said it's wrong. It's wrong. Don't say something like this 'Oh Iqra. But my heart. It told me so.' Doesn't matter what your heart say.
Don't listen to your heart. Trust God that lives inside of you. Let the holy spirit guide you.
