You may have heard or read a story called 'Sleeping Beauty' where the princess was put to sleep for 100 years until she was woken by a true love kiss and the curse of an evil fairy was gone and they lived happily ever after. However this story is a bit different and a bit spiritual.
Once upon a time, the king and the queen finally had a child, a girl. She was called Briar Rose. All the royalty, nobility, peasants and others came to see the infant princess. They even invited three good heavenly fairies who came to bless the child with one gift. The first one, granted the child of wisdom. The second one blessed the little one, a kindness. The third one blessed the infant princess..... but then a large green smoke came and out came an evil dark fairy. She worked for Satan. She has heard the christening ceremony. She wasn't invited, but she had to bestow the gift on the child.
"Listen well to all of you. The princess will grow into grace and beauty, loved by all who meet her. But....." she looked at the spinning wheel "before the sunset on her 16th birthday, she shall prick the needle of the spinning wheel and die." she laughed so evilly and she vanished.
The third fairy approached the king and queen "Your majesties. I cannot undo her curse, for it's too powerful. But I can help. Your daughter will not die, but fall into a deep sleep for 100 years and can only be woken up by love and good news."
After the celebration was over, by order of the king, all the spinning wheels were burned. All except one, in the tower, for they haven't checked it, as no one has ever been to the tower.
The princess grew wisdom, grace and beauty. She was kind and lovely. But one day, she heard a voice, the sound of a siren, calling her name. It led her to the tower. She went inside and saw an old lady spinning on the spinning wheel. She was making the finest dress. The princess wanted to try it. But her finger pricked the needle and fell down. The old lady wasn't an old lady, but an evil fairy disguised as an old lady.
Her parents found her lying on the floor. They put her on her bed. The fairy, who was the first to give a gift, put a sleeping spell. "Everyone in the kingdom shall be asleep and will be woken up after the princess is awake." And with the flick of her wand, all the people and animals fall into a deep sleep.
Years later, the castle was covered in roses and thorns. Until, finally, 100 years had come. A missionary, the same age as the princess, heard the curse and was sent to break the spell. It was the Lord's command. He, with a sword, strikes the thorns, while going inside the castle. He went to the princess room and saw her. He grabbed the Bible and read the verses of the Lord. He told the story of the good news. After the story, he leaned down on his knee and kissed her forehead. She was finally woken and then all the people had too. The curse was broken and the evil fairy was burned and turned into ashes.
The princess and the missionary got married and with the blessing of the Lord and their parents, they spread the good news and lived happily ever after.
