                                                                 Answers

Henry: Q1 is B. The Bible describes her as a lovely young woman from Shunem who was picked to assist and serve King David as he aged. Despite the blankets, David's courtiers suggested he find a young virgin to sleep in his bosom to keep him warm because he was getting older and constantly felt cold.

Max the monkey: Q2 is A. His acts were interpreted as a betrayal of Solomon, David's designated heir. David rejected Adonijah's declaration of himself as king, believing Solomon to be the legitimate heir to the throne.

Henry: Q3 is both B and C. David's army was commanded by Joab. He had upset David with a number of actions, including the assassinations of Amasa, who would eventually succeed Joab, and Abner, the leader of Saul's army. When David fled Jerusalem when Absalom rebelled against him, Shimei, a Benjamite from Bahurim, condemned him.

Max the monkey: Q4 is D. Joab murdered Abner in defiance of David's wishes. Abner, who had killed Joab's brother Asahel in battle with honour, turned to David's side and gave him leadership of the Benjamin tribe. Joab also murdered Amasa, David's nephew, who had taken Joab's place as army leader.

Henry: Q5 is D. David reigned as king for 40 years.

Max the monkey: Q6 is false. Following Saul's passing, David did not initially relocate to Jerusalem.

Henry: Q7 is true. Abner did in fact support David's reign.

Max the monkey: Q8 is true. David famously defeated the giant Philistine warrior Goliath using a single stone and a sling.

Henry: Q9 is false. David was the first king of Israel, succeeding Saul.

Max the monkey: Q10 is true. David is traditionally attributed as the author of numerous Psalms in the Bible.
