Henry: Hello I'm Henry
Max the monkey: I'm Max
Henry: This theme topic is Bible.
Max the monkey: What is the last word in the Old Testament?
Henry: By which previous name was Paul of Tarsus known as?
Max the monkey: Whose wife was turned into a pillar of salt when she looked back?
Henry: In the Bible, who is said to have lived on a diet of locusts and wild honey?
Max the monkey: How many years did Noah live for after the flood?
Henry: There are only three angels named in the Bible. Michael and Lucifer are two; can you name the other?
Max the monkey: The book of Esther is unique because it does not mention which word?
Henry: The Bible was written in three languages: Hebrew, Koine Greek, and which other language?
Max the monkey: Who made the first translation of the Bible into English in 1382?
Henry: Name the longest book of the Bible with 150 chapters.
Max the monkey: Then it's true or false. Q1. Jesus was born in the town of Nazareth.
Henry: Ham, Shem, and Japheth were Noah’s three sons.
Max the monkey: Moses fled to Midian after killing an Egyptian.
Henry: At the wedding in Damascus, Jesus turned water into wine.
Max the monkey: God dispatched Jonah to Nineveh.
Henry: Jesus healed Lazarus of his blindness.
Max the monkey: The tax collector passed by on the other side in the parable of the Good Samaritan.
Henry: Isaac was Abraham’s first son.
Max the monkey: For the answers. Q1 is Malachi. The last word in the Old Testament is from the book of Malachi. It reads: “Lest I come and smite the land with a curse.” In the original Hebrew, this word conveys the idea of destruction rather than a mere curse.
Henry: Q2 is Saul. Before Paul of Tarsus converted to Christianity, he was known as Saul of Tarsus. He was thereafter recognised to as Saint Paul by the Catholic Church. He started numerous Christian communities in Asia Minor and Europe and was instrumental in advancing the teachings of Jesus during the first century.
Max the monkey: Q3 is Lot's wife. Lot’s wife, a biblical character, was turned into a pillar of salt for looking back to see the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah as she and her family were fleeing.
Henry: Q4 is John the Baptist. John the Baptist is the figure in the Bible who is said to have survived on a diet of locusts and wild honey while living in the wilderness.
Max the monkey: Q5 is 350 years. After the great flood, Noah lived for 350 years, thus at the time of his death, he was 950 years old.
Henry: Q6 is Gabriel. Scripture has four references to Gabriel. He brings messages to Mary, the future mother of Jesus the Messiah, the prophet Daniel, and the priest Zechariah, who would one day father John the Baptist. Gabriel is an angel who manifests as a human and is present with God.
Max the monkey: Q7 is God. The word "God" is never mentioned throughout the book of Esther, which makes it special. The novel is filled of strange coincidences and ironic reversals that urge readers to discern God's plan at work behind every scenario, even in spite of this absence.
Henry: Q8 is Aramaic. Conversely, the New Testament was composed in Koine Greek, with sporadic Aramaic phrases like "Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani?" that Christ employs at his crucifixion.
Max the monkey: Q9 is John Wycliffe. John Wycliffe is credited with creating the first complete English translation of the Bible in 1382. His translation included both the Old and New Testaments, making it accessible to ordinary people who could now read the Bible in a language they understood.
Henry: And the last one is Psalm. It’s part of the wisdom literature in the Old Testament. Psalms also leads in total verses and words.
Max the monkey: For the first answer from true or false questions is false. Jesus was born in Bethlehem, a little village a few miles south of Jerusalem, according to both Matthew and Luke.
Henry: The second one is true. According to the biblical account in the Book of Genesis, Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. These three sons played significant roles in the story of the Great Flood and the subsequent repopulation of the Earth.
Max the monkey: The third one is also true. According to the biblical story, Moses killed an Egyptian who was abusing a Hebrew slave and then escaped to Midian. Afraid of Pharaoh's vengeance, Moses took sanctuary in Midian, close to the Gulf of Aqaba.
Henry: The fourth is false. The event when Jesus transformed water into wine happened in Cana in Galilee, not Damascus. The New International Version of the Bible states that John 2:1–11 describes this incident. When the wine ran out at the wedding, Jesus told the servants to fill six stone water jars with water. Jesus and his followers were invited.
Max the monkey: This one is another true. In the Book of Jonah, God called the prophet Jonah to go to the great Assyrian city of Nineveh and proclaim a message of disaster due to the city’s excessive wickedness.
Henry: The next one, this time is false. Lazarus was raised from the dead by Jesus. The story is found in the Gospel of John, chapter 11.
Max the monkey: This one is false. In the parable of the Good Samaritan, a man was attacked by robbers while traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho. They stripped him, beat him, and left him half dead. A priest happened to pass by but crossed to the other side of the road without helping. Similarly, a Levite did the same. However, a compassionate Samaritan came along, tended to the wounded man’s injuries, and took him to an inn for care.
Henry: The last one is false. Isaac was actually Abraham's second son. Sarah was eager to give Abraham a family, so her maidservant Hagar gave birth to his first son, Ishmael.
Max the monkey: I hope you love our games
Henry: Until it's next time with Henry
Max the monkey: And Max.
Both: (Waving their hands)
