Tested by fire - Dan 3:1-30

The story of Daniel 3:1-30 in the King James Version (KJV) is about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego being tested by fire in the fiery furnace. Here's a simplified breakdown:

1. King Nebuchadnezzar's Golden Image (Verses 1-7):

King Nebuchadnezzar builds a massive golden image and commands everyone to worship it when they hear music.

Anyone who doesn't worship the image will be thrown into a fiery furnace.

2. Accusation Against the Jews (Verses 8-12):

Certain Chaldeans report that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who are Jews, refuse to worship the golden image.

3. Confrontation with the King (Verses 13-18):

Nebuchadnezzar summons the three men and angrily questions them.

They bravely refuse to worship the image, expressing their faith that God can deliver them from the furnace but insisting they won't worship the image even if God does not save them.

4. Thrown into the Furnace (Verses 19-23):

Nebuchadnezzar orders the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than usual.

The three men are bound and thrown into the furnace, and the heat is so intense that it kills the soldiers who throw them in.

5. Divine Deliverance (Verses 24-27):

Nebuchadnezzar is astonished to see four men walking unharmed in the fire, and the fourth looks like “the Son of God.”

He calls them out of the furnace, and they emerge unharmed, not even smelling of smoke.

6. King’s Decree (Verses 28-30):

Nebuchadnezzar praises the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, decreeing that no one speak against their God.

The three men are promoted in the province of Babylon.

This story highlights their unwavering faith in God, His power to deliver, and the subsequent acknowledgment of God's supremacy by the pagan king.
