The Table of Shewbread is another intriguing aspect of biblical history.
Exodus 25:23-30: This passage details God's instructions for constructing the Table of Shewbread. Made of acacia wood and overlaid with gold, it had specific dimensions and was adorned with a gold molding. The table was to hold twelve loaves of bread, symbolizing the twelve tribes of Israel, and it was placed in the Tabernacle's Holy Place.
Leviticus 24:5-9: This passage provides further instructions on preparing and maintaining the Shewbread. The loaves were made from fine flour and baked weekly, arranged in two rows on the table. On the Sabbath, the bread was replaced with fresh loaves, and the old loaves were eaten by Aaron and his sons in the Holy Place as part of their priestly duties.
John 6:31-35: In this passage, Jesus refers to Himself as the "bread of life." He draws a parallel between the manna provided to the Israelites in the wilderness and His role as the spiritual sustenance for humanity. Jesus emphasizes that those who come to Him will never hunger or thirst spiritually.
