Today it's St Andrew Day and it's celebrated across the Scotland. Here are some facts about him.
He was born in early 1st century AD, so that he means he was a disciple of Jesus Christ.
He had a brother, Simon Peter, was also one of Jesus' disciple (he was the first one). They both lived in Galilee, where they were fishermen.
Just like Jesus' death, he died on the cross, but the only difference was, Andrew died on X shaped cross, that's why the Scottish Flag have it. Jesus died on T shaped cross.
He never visited Scotland.
He is the patron saint not just Scotland but Romania, Russia, Poland, Ukraine and Barbados.
After his death, only some of his remains, including a tooth, an arm bone, a kneecap and some fingers, were taken to St Andrews, a seaside town in Scotland.
He continued the spread after Jesus' death.
The name is a Greek origin and it means 'brave' and 'manly'
He died around the age of 55 in 60 AD in Patras.
