Christmas was coming soon. Everyone across the Greensleeves were excited. Seven teenage girls were at the church praising Christ. Jesus was the greatest gift ever! They gave each other a present. Not very rich, but humble. The girls weren't interested in riches on earth.
Then a little girl, with blonde with dark brown streaks hair, blue eyes, her faces were covered in ashes and she was barefoot. She was holding a drumstick and drum. Bella asked her what she was doing. She said that she would play the drums for the king. King Jesus Christ. It was to honour Him. She had no grand gift. She asked the girls if she can played for Him. They nodded. The girls beamed at her music. Her gift may be not fancy, but it was very beautiful. They knew that Jesus loved it.
The sound of the drum echoed through the quiet church, its simple beat resonating with the hearts of the seven girls. Bella, Mary, Elizabeth, Kate, Katherine, Anne, and Jane were all moved by the little girl's heartfelt offering.
Bella smiled warmly at the little girl and said, "What's your name?"
The girl looked up, her eyes shining with determination. "My name is Hope."
"Hope," Anne repeated softly. "What a beautiful name."
As Hope continued to play, her music filled the room with a gentle, steady rhythm. It was as if her drumbeats were speaking directly to each girl's soul, reminding them of the true spirit of Christmas - the joy of giving from the heart.
Mary, with tears in her eyes, whispered to Elizabeth, "She's right. It's not about the grandeur of the gift, but the love and intention behind it."
Elizabeth nodded in agreement. "Exactly. And Hope's gift is the purest of all."
The girls joined hands, forming a circle around Hope. They began to sing along with the rhythm of the drum, their voices blending harmoniously to create a beautiful melody. It was a simple, yet profound moment of unity and worship.
Hope's face lit up with joy as she realized that her humble gift had touched the hearts of these girls. She felt a warmth spreading through her, knowing that her music was an offering of love to Jesus.
After their song ended, Jane knelt down beside Hope and said, "Thank you for sharing your gift with us, Hope. You have reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas."
Hope smiled shyly and said, "Thank you for letting me play. I wanted to honor Jesus, and now I feel like I have."
Katherine gently took Hope's hand and said, "You have, Hope. More than you know."
The girls hugged Hope, and they all felt a renewed sense of peace and purpose. They knew that Christmas was not about material wealth, but about the love and joy they could share with one another.
As they left the church, the girls carried with them the memory of that special moment, knowing that they had witnessed something truly beautiful. They walked back to their homes, their hearts light and full of gratitude, ready to celebrate Christmas with the people they loved.
And Hope, with her drum in hand, felt a newfound sense of belonging and happiness. She knew that her gift, though simple, was cherished and appreciated. She would continue to play her drum for Jesus, bringing joy to those around her.
